Just a memorial wil not be enough in Titanyen. View the strategic location of this area, being in the way to cote DES Acadins I believe we should put a " Rest Area" there. That will in away force all visitor going out of the capital to stop there to pay respect to thousands of our brothers n sisters who die on January 12, 2010.

Chak Ayisyen kap viv jodi a dwe pran sa an konsideration; paske ninpot mounn te ka pase. An nou mande ak yon sèl vwa pou Titanyen tounnen yon Place nan memwa tout viktim 12 janvye 2010.

The people who pass away in this horrible trageday need to go to the other side with peace and we Haitian who ar lucky to still breathing we must pay them respect by making Titanyen a Memorial Park.

Sa M' Ka Fè Pou Ayiti?

Kamarad Ayisyen mwen yo, mwen modifye pawòl sa yo pou nou: "...pa mande sa peyi nou ka fè pou nou--mande pito kisa nou ka fè pou peyi nou." Ayiti bezwen nou kounye la-a. Kelkeswa kote n'ap viv jodia, nou ka fè on bagay.

Prezidan John F. Kennedy te di pawòl sa you pou pèp American-an nan dat 20 Janvye 1961. Jouk jodia anpil nan pèp Ameriken-an ap repete sa; epi yo mete li an pratik tou. Gade ki kote yo ye nan mond lan, w'a konprann.

Le nou te piti Ayiti, yo aprann nou ke "leta se nou". Pa vre? Se nan aksyon pozitif nap poze jodia ke n'ap fè fondasyon pou on demen miyò.

Tout tan gen Ayisyen, Ayiti ap toujou egziste. L'ap toujou egziste tout tan nou deside fè on bagay pozitif pou peyi nou; piti kou li ye. Se mèt kò ki veye

M'ap tounen sou dosye sa-a ankò.

Kenbe la.

Introduction to the idea of "Titanyen Memorial Park"

Bodies of several thousands of the January 12th earthquake victims in Haiti were disposed in mass grave. This has generated so much controversies. The disposal took place outside of a small village called Titanyen, located a few miles north of Port-au-Prince.

The mass graves were dug by the government-run Centre National des Equipements (CNE) as a quick result of the local morgues and cemeteries being out of capacity. Images of the mass burials were quickly broadcasted by the international media. This situation was heartbreaking for Haitians and citizens of other countries, as the images were so atrocious for the eyes.

Knowing how funeral traditions are important and diverse, some actions need to be taken. Some Haitians believe in honoring dead with a great ceremonies and proper burials. There are also those who believe that a proper send-off is a sign of emotional support for the survived relatives. I believe in the latter one.

Given the fact that only very few people (families and friends) know exactly who got buried in Titanyen, this place must be transformed into a memorial park by the Government. This Facebook Page is launched to generate supports to this idea. With your help we can transform Titanyen into something positive for the history of our country.

Please let us know your thoughts on this.
